Jimmy has an affinity for old things. “Age adds value! Old things that still work as designed are amazing, these things have become timeless.”
Classic cars are Timeless
In 1996 Jimmy’s uncle, Sammy Jackson, gave him an old 1960 Willys-Overland Wagon. Sam built this car as a “Hot Rod” in the nineteen-seventies and it was something of a neighborhood legend, but when Jimmy got it, it was faded orange with orange and yellow shag carpet inside, a dead motor, and flat tires. Jimmy was ecstatic! Jennifer, Jimmy’s wife, was some what less enthusiastic. Even that acceptance waned when this treasure found it’s home all over the garage. Now, after more than ten years work by Jimmy, Jim Sr., Sam, and others, the 47 plus year-old Willys lives again. Not exactly stock, the Willys is now painted purple and running around Austin as a marketing vehicle for Capitol Area Realty. It has been running in two centuries and is still going strong.
Family is Timeless
To call Jimmy sentimental would not be an exaggeration. He still carries a memento of the first date with Jennifer, his wife of over 14 years.
Jimmy and Jennifer have two children. A daughter named Riley Lane Jackson and a son named Samuel “Sammy” Henderson Jackson.
Jimmy has a son named Dakota Joseph Philips who lives with his mother in California. He and Dakota talk every day.
Dakota, like his father, loves to draw and build things. Riley, like her mother and father, plays soccer. She is on a select team with the Austin United Capital Soccer Club. Sammy, like his father, wants to know how everything works and drive anything with wheels.
Being a father is what keeps Jimmy motivated. Whether it be helping to coach Riley's soccer team, reading library books in bed with Sammy, or talking to Dakota, Jimmy loves to spend every possible moment with his family. Their love for each other is timeless.
Quality is Timeless
Jimmy likes quality workmanship. With almost ten years experience as a carpenter and builder, prior to starting his real estate career, Jimmy knows quality. Time spent as a shop foreman taught Jimmy the importance of people working as a team focused on quality. He says “There are no unimportant people on a team. Create a team with the most qualified people you can find, empower them to do their jobs, keep them focused on the goal, and there is nothing they can not do.”
Timeless Service
Remember when a gas station was a “service station.” A time when people ask “What can I do for you?” and then actually heard the answer. Jimmy believes real estate service can and should be this way. Jimmy and his team listen to their clients, confirm their needs and wants then provide for those. They recognize the stress involved in real estate transactions, and work to minimize it. All of the agents at Capitol Area Realty are constantly undergoing continuing education to keep up with the ever changing climate of real estate. As President of Capitol Area Realty Jimmy strives to make every transaction as professional, smooth, painless and stress free as possible. |
